Why is...

a bowl of oats so comforting when it's warm?

a peach such a delight even when half of it is mushy or too soft?

a tempeh sammie so satisfying between two slices of homemade bread?

a 5.5 mile workout on the elliptical in 50 minutes + 6 seconds such a rad feeling?

a halved banana in a red bowl so rewarding?

burnt broccoli so stinkin' delicious in mai mouth?!

Because it was the coldest morning I've felt all summer...
Because peaches are amazing no matter how soft or firm...
Because of the avocado bomb taking center stage...
Because my knee didn't feel even the slightest bit o' pain...
Because the spinach n rice gratin + cauli were its pals...

Goodnight moon.

...but those who hope in the LORD
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.
Isaiah 40:31

  1. Why does burnt brocolli and cauliflower taste so good? Same with brussel sprouts. Certain veggies taste like they carmelize into candy when you burn them a little bit. I love your pix of food and descriptions! They almost make me want to try some of them. Love u.

  2. Haha what a fun post. Def one of my favorite verses from Isaiah! What a beautiful vision, what an awesome hope we can hold on to. I cant wait for the day when I can sit at Jesus's side and praise him for His grace and His beautiful truth

  3. Cute post! I looove burnt broccoli too. I sometimes gets weird looks, but don't knock it til you try it!

  4. That sandwich looks so good! I love tempeh. Is that avocado on it? It looks quite tasty!
