The Missing Pieces

Oh my goodness! Is there any better way to start a Monday (and the entire work week) than this?

"But now in Christ Jesus you who formerly were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. For He Himself is our peace." Ephesians 2:13-14

This is what I had been missing. This is what I have been looking for in all the wrong places: inner peace! I knew that it comes from Christ and Him alone, but for some reason I thought He supplied it through worldly things. I would look for peace through running, fitness, food, blogging, accountability, my own actions and receiving the job I was asking for. And the peace that came along with them was short lived and un-fulfilling. Because it lasted such a short time, I was brought down constantly. I was trying to rely on them and they didn't satisfy, always fell short.

Then, one blessed day (this past Saturday, to be specific) it hit me straight on. I was looking for inner peace in things that don't even offer it! Not once did I look directly to my Savior, even though He is the only One that gives it. I am so incredibly happy that He opened my eyes to all He, not my hobbies, offers, including peace. I truly can't stop thanking Him. Felt like a full on epiphany, a break in the clouds, a giant beam of sunlight hitting my face and a low, powerful voice talking to me from the sky. Unbelievable.

I know my heavenly Father will never fail me, He is always going to be more than enough, and will always be there. I'm relying on that promise and His Word from here on out. It's so comforting!

Ah, then a (100% pain-free) run and (100% tasty) food happened. Let's partake in some photos, shall we?

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts,

were called to peace.
And be thankful.
Colossians 3:15
