Ice Cream on the Deck with Gma

And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. Colossians 3:14

Does it get any simpler or richer than this? We are called to put on love above all other things, it will bring us together in perfect harmony. It's like the "world peace" hope so many of us wonder if we'll ever have. Paul, the author of this book, is telling us that if we surround, saturate, immerse ourselves in love and loving those around us - all will be well. In word, in action, in thought, let us strive to do it in love like Christ Himself did everything in love when He lived on this earth!

I think putting on love goes well with baby-and-grandma-on-the-deck-sharing-life-together, don't you? Last month my mama celebrated her birthday, and to make it extra special Santi prepared ice cream for her.  A handful of frozen berries, a splash of almond milk, a few drops of vanilla and half a banana into a food processor - voila! Sprinkled with shredded coconut and ready to be consumed on a sunny afternoon. Of course, being the serving, giving, loving lady that God has made her to be, she decided to share it (read: give most of it away) with her grandbaby boy. He approved.

We agreed that the spoon was a little over full. He agreed that this was the best idea ever.

Linking to yesterday's post about my 2 fruit meals a day, here is the banana classic. Sometimes I have it for breakfast, sometimes lunch, sometimes we have an entire case of green bananas that haven't ripened yet so I go two days without them and eat apples with kiwi. I usually eat 5 bananas or so, then slurp on a smoothie some hours later when my tummy asks for food.

Banana Green Smoothie!
serves 1-2, depending on how hungry you are and if you exercised your face off and are in need of more calories than your friend who just went for a 30 minute leisurely walk today (that's me. the friend. I walk. happily)

4 bananas
1-2 handfuls collards, kale or spinach
2 cups water

Blend in high speed blender or normal-speed blender (you may need to blend it for a longer time, or add more water, if you're using a regular blender.)

THE END. So easy, sweet, rich, packed with goodness. Enjoy!
